The Ridin the River Cowboy Fellowship has started its Riding on Faith Rodeo series on Saturday nights thought August 6, 2021.

The first rodeo was scheduled for June 4 but was rained out so folks were happy to attend the June 11 and they were not disappointed.

Cowgirls and their horses showed the crowd what barrel racing is all about by riding fast around three barrel while trying not to known them over.

Cowboys riding on big mean bulls were not so lucky as they tried to stay on 8 seconds. The rodeo clown and other cowboys had their hands busy keeping the bulls from the running over thrown-off cowboys.

After about five or six cowboys were bucked off, one cowboy finally stayed on past eight seconds as the crowd yelled its happiness.

Among the people in the stands were a group of folks attending the weekend long Bandera All Class Reunion Weekend 2021 event with Bandera HS graduates from the Class of 1952 to the Class of 1985 and almost every year in between.

In open bull riding, Lorenzo Lopez took home $233, and Winston Lopez took home $157.

In novice bull riding, Gavan Hauck took home $492.

In senior mini riding, John Gallowway took home $202, and Fernando Morales took home $135.

In junior mini riding, the rollover was $210.

In open barrels, KD Cortez took home $280, Laura Moos took home $168 and Kaley Eckert took home $115.

In junior barrels, Selah Farmer took home $201, Maike Cunningham tok home $151, Chloe Smms took home $101 and Samantha Cortines took home $52.

Kayli Stokes took home $588 dollars in breakaway roing, while K. Wren and D. Dermony took home $700 in team roping.
