The Lady Bulldog Varsity Softball team started the game against the Fredericksburg Billies with some stout determination written on their faces. The stiff breezes on the hilltop, glaring sun low in the sky, and blowing dust took the starch out of their sails, though, as Fredericksburg started racking up the runs in the game, ultimately coming away with the win.

Shortstop Summer Haby was a standout for her excellent fielding. Aubrey Mangold did a creditable job at third base. Nalyzza Rodriguez and Lyndsay Blair had some great at-bats.

When the players connected with the balls, they were able to get them into the outfield with little trouble. Unfortunately, the Billies’ steamroller offense continued as the Lady Bulldogs fell to the Billies 18 runs to 4 for the Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs so far have not yet had a “W” this season, but they are improving their play with each game.

The Lady Bulldogs played Boerne on Tuesday, April 5 but no scores were available at press time.
