Our dear sweet beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Lula McWhorter went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 31, 2021, in her home with loved ones around her. She was born on September 4, 1928, in Madisonville, TX, and has lived in Bandera for 35 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mabel Moore, by the love of her life T.W. McWhorter, her two older sisters, Ethel Wallace and Joyce Goff, and her daughter, Linda Hentschel.

She is survived by her younger sister, Jean Todd of Willis, TX, and younger brother, Carl Moore, Jr and wife Trula of Mississippi. She is also survived by her daughter, Susan Edwards (Barnie) of Bandera TX, son-in-law, Frank Hentschel of Conroe, TX, grandchildren Michael Hentschel (Karen), Brian Edwards (Ashley), Tracy Steingold (Shaun) and several great grandchildren. Lula worked in secretarial positions most of her life. She worked for John Lathem Publications, April Sound on Lake Conroe and retired working for Conroe Independent School District.

Lula was a beautiful lady inside and out. She loved the Lord and was an amazing example of a Christian woman. She loved her family and was loved by everyone that knew her. The love of her life was her husband, T. W. McWhorter. They spent their lives loving each other, never apart and loved taking little vacation trips together.

We love you, we will miss you and you will be in our hearts forever!

Lula’s funeral service was held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Madisonville Cemetery where she was laid to rest.
