“SAVE DEMOCRACY” HERE IN AMERICA

Bulletin of Dec 22 contained two articles extolling “Democracy”, and encouraged all of us to “Save Democracy” here in America.

The problem with their very bad advice is that the United States has never been “A Democracy”!! Our governing document, The Constitution of The U.S. ratified in 1787, created a “Constitutional Republic” which is totally opposite to a “democracy”. The authors of our Constitution despised so called “Democracies”, noting that their histories had ever been “Chaotic, bloody, and short”. Instead of “saving democracy” (correctly called “Mob-ocracy”), let us work to save the Constitutional Republic the founders gave us, the one that has lasted for over 200 years, while Democracies line the dust bins of history.
