JoAnn Baumann, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother went to be with our Lord on Friday morning, November 12, 2021, in Utopia, Texas.

JoAnn was born March 5, 1936, in Sabinal, Texas, and was the seventh child of Oscar Thomas and Minnie (Palvado) Moore of Vanderpool.

JoAnn married Don Thompson of Barksdale, Texas, and had two children; Tacy (Rusty) Redden, of Utopia and Olen (Sharon) Thompson of Hondo. While attending St. Mary’s University in San Antonio to earn her BA in Education, she met and married Clifford Baumann, Sr. and they settled in Hondo, Texas, which was approximately an equal distance between Utopia and San Antonio. JoAnn continued to teach school in Utopia and drive the school bus until she retired after 25 years of service and Clifford continued to work in San Antonio for Union Pacific until he retired.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Thomas Moore and Minnie (Palvado) Moore; first husband: Don Thompson; brothers: Oscar Townsend Moore, Ivan “Fritz” Moore, H.E. Moore, and sisters; Inez Mongelluzzo, and Lois Boyce.

JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Clifford Baumann, Sr.; daughter Tacy Redden (Rusty); Son, Olen Thompson (Sharon), step-sons Clifford Baumann, Jr, (Laura) and Michael Baumann; sister Bonnie Baker; grandchildren: Ragan (Shawn) Browder, Ryan (Brandy) Redden, Brandi (Michael) Giorno, Reid (Toby) Redden, Michelle (Curtis) Moser, Kimberly (Kevin) Schmidt, Samantha (Chris) Metzger, Lance Baumann, Lynsie (Brian) Staudt, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Monday, November 15, 2021, at Vanderpool Cemetery.
