James “Jim” W Kimbrell

Jr, a longtime resident of Bandera County passed away on March 14, 2024 at the age of 67. Jim is preceded in death by his parents James and Betty Kimbrell of Bandera. Jim is survived by his Daughter Misty Aleman and granddaughter Carmella Aleman of Austin Tx, his sister Kathy Thaler of Bandera, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Alexandria, Louisiana Dec. 18, 1956 to James and Betty Kimbrell. As a child it became apparent his love for animals. Jim was never shy to pick up a lost or abandoned animal and make it his own. Jim graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz May 28, 1975. Jim, “Buba” enjoyed spending time with his family and little sister. As he grew older his interests expanded, James owned several dirt bikes and race cars in his time. Other interests and good times were had attending concerts, dancing to any genre of music, drawing, hunting Aarrow heads in Bandera and spending time in the honkytonks local to Bandera Texas. In April of 1990 Jim welcomed his only Daughter Misty into the world. He was excited to tell everyone, this was the best day of his life. Throughout Jims life he lived and worked in many areas of the United States. James has lived in Arizona, Washington, Louisiana, Alaska and then settled in Texas with his family. Jim was a friend of everyone and never met a stranger. He could make a friend anywhere he went. He had a smile that could light up a room and a heart of gold. There is a kindness in Jim that will be forever missed.
