David J. Thompson, 74, passed away peacefully December 2, 2021 at his home in Pipe Creek, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents, David V. Thompson and Ludwina Thompson. David was born in the Alps of Burgberg, Germany. He served in the United States Army in the early 1970’s before settling in Texas.

He was passionate about working hard and loved spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Doyce Thompson, his sister Mary Ann Weinmann (Heinz), his son David James Thompson (Morgan), Stepchildren-Sheila Adams (Randy), William Diggs, Shana Smith, Aubrey Diggs, Karla Brooks (Billy), and Kari Diggs. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Texas with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Castle Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department, 3801 Bear Creek Rd, Pipe Creek, TX 78063, (830) 535-6611, in David’s name.

The family would like to thank Peterson Hospice of Kerrville for their care and compassion during David’s declining health.
