The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is hosting a workshop to receive comments on the draft 2023-2026 Rural Transportation Improvement Program and to receive feedback for future planning efforts for the Alamo Regional Rural Planning Organization (ARRPO).

The ARRPO region includes Atascosa, Bandera, Frio, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Gillespie, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson county, the San Antonio District also covers Uvalde county for the purposes of the Rural TIP.

A workshop will be held in each county, and Medina County’s workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, at the Medina County Annex, located at 1300 Ave. M in Hondo.

The presentation will cover projects including the Statewide Transporation Improvement Program for the next four years, the Unified Transportation Program for the next ten years, the Metropolitan and Rural Plans Long Range Plan for the next 20 years and the Texas Transportation Long Range Plan for the next ten years.

A presentation and exhibits showing how the Rural TIP operates and projects included in it will be displayed at each workshop. The virtual option will include the same information presented at the in-person workshop and include a pre-recorded presentation, individual county program materials and an interactive map. The virtual option will be available at the time of the workshop.

Comments intended to be made during the workshop must be postmarked or otherwise received by April 7 in order to be considered in the summary of the meeting.

Comment cards, a pre-recorded prestation, and more information about the project as a whole is available by visiting txdot.gov. Search for “Hearings and Meetings.”
