Traitors in our County

Yes, you read correctly, we have traitors in our County.

Who are these traitors? And why should you be concerned; all organizations have traitors.

Much of this article is my opinion but as the old saying goes, where there is smoke there is fire.

I hope you have been keeping up with the Montague Solar application to the BISD, it has become quite contentious. Your School Board is considering whether to give this company a tax abatement so they can come in and build a giant solar farm.

I think this application was submitted last October.

However, during the community meeting on Jan 24, Montague Solar admitted that they had already leased the land roughly 18 months ago and had already begun negotiations with Bandera Electric to accept the power produced from the facility and began preparation of the site.

Also, during this meeting, it was evident that the majority of Bandera County citizens did not want this potential environment disaster in our County. So why then would the School Board even consider a tax abatement for this company? I would venture to guess that this company was most likely asked to come to the County by the School Board and back door politics has started. As we say in the Army, stay in your lane. School Board this is not your lane.

So, the taxpaying citizens of Bandera County you need to start taking a more active role in the government within your county, so we prevent issues like this from occurring.

So, let’s go back to my comment about traitors in the County. Harsh but true words.

Remember the Issue with the Central Appraisal District? What did the County government do to help resolve this in favor of the taxpayer? Nothing.

If fact, there are still two legal actions pending from the County governments lack of action. I am told that now your county government is agreeing to settle out of court. Who will end up paying the bill? You will.

I could go on and on about issue after issue where your local government puts the taxpayer last, but I would hope you get the point.

So, what should you do or what can you do with these traitors to our way of life, our values, and our sense of fair play? Well, it just so happens there is a lot you can do. But will you? Will you get up off your backside and get involved in your local government. Will you run for office and be a voice to be heard? Will you do something to begin to right the many injustices that are occurring. Will it be easy. No!

You will most likely be a target for name calling, threats or even worse. There are always some that will step forward. Not to gain power or recognition but because they care. Are you one of these people?

I hope for all of us there are those of you out there who are willing to make the sacrifice, to step forward and lead from the front. I am your political activist and as I look back at the last four years, I can say that I am worried about the direction our country and state are going.

There seems to be corruption at all levels of government. But Texas is a land of Patriots, A land that is filled with people that are willing to sacrifice.

So, in closing I would implore no, I beg you to get involved and let’s take back our County and our government.
