The Pipe Creek Christmas Tree Farm and Pumpkin Patch owner Jim Hingst looked around his location and saw a sea of happy kids and adults.

“The Pumpkin Patch is mostly for children 10 and under, but everyone has fun,” he said, pointing to the many activities that were going on, including a small train, pumpkin carving and decorating, and other fun fall-themed stations.

Hingst said the Pumpkin Patch is about eight years old compared to the Christmas Tree Farm started in 1994.

Ingram residents Alex and Sarah Johnson and their children Everett, age three, and Amos, age two, were sitting on a bale of hay and watching all the fun.

Pipe Creek’s Pumpkin Patch started in early October and will go through the Halloween weekend. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. More information can be found at pipecreekpumpkinpatch.com

“We can’t wait to come and get our Christmas tree,” said Alex Johnson, referring to the Christmas tree offerings that will be available at the farm starting November 22.

If you’ve already visited Pipe Creek’s pumpkin patch but still have fall season itches to scratch, Love Creek Orchards’ Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch might do the trick.

Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with events like pig racing and music scheduled throughout the day, more information can be found by calling 830-200-0302.
