The Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual barbeque on Sunday, October 10, at the Fire Station.

“The line stretched out to the street all afternoon,” remarked one serving line worker.

The event drew a large crowd of well over 500 people to support the fire department and enjoy juicy brisket with potato salad, beans, tea and all the fixings.

The fire fighters tended the barbeque pit overnight, and the brisket’s fork-tenderness showed their attention to detail by being fork tender.

While many patrons ate at the event, even more seemed to purchase multiple plates to enjoy at home.

A Market Place was set up behind the station for local vendors who had hand-made crafts and artisans from the area. After eating, patrons could stroll among the vendors and shop for unique items.

The Fire Department also provided music from DJ 4-1-0 while youngsters bounced in the Zero Gravity Bouncers inside the Fire House.

A limited number of tickets were sold for the raffle part of the event.

The Fire Department would like to thank the following donors for the prizes for the raffle: Hyo Silver, Al’s Hideaway, Bandera Ranch Store, Drop Tine Taxidermy, TDR Training, STC Custom Homes and Remodeling, Backyard Bistro, Boerne Home Depot, Mato Tomato Girls, Bandera Mini Mart, Bandera Bank, Main Street Tire and Auto, Bandera True Value and Southern Sass Salon and Spa.

Also donated were a handtooled butterfly purse with concealed carry compartment, and a Savage Axis II Winchester rifle.

The sponsors of the event were Bandera Electric Coop, Texas Rose Realty, Bandera Ranch Store, Pipe Creek Dental Center, Propane Depot, Bandera Mini Mart, Mato Tomato Girls and Bandera Bank.

The PCVF Department also thanks Bertie’s Rentals for their donation of services to keep the site clean.
