On Monday, Aug. 14, The Bandera ISD board of trustees unanimously approved a $40 million bond to be on the ballot this November.

The board’s previous bond, which totaled nearly $79.5 million failed to pass earlier this year with a vote of 638 to 565. Just under 1,700 of Bandera County’s 15,632 registered voters turned out to vote on the matter.

Following its failure, the 50-member bond committee gathered to readdress next steps.

The new bond emphasizes school safety without impacting the BISD tax rate.

Should the bond pass, district officials say the BISD I&S tax rate will remain at .1238 percent.
