Memorial Day weekend approaches

Memorial Day parades, music, rodeos and other events are scheduled throughout the coming holiday weekend, but please join the Bulletin in honoring and thanking those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Here’s a non-comprehensive list of community events scheduled throughout the Cowboy Capital of the World.

On Monday, the American Legion will be placing flags on graves to honor those who died while serving in the U.S. Military. More information regarding this is in an article below.

The legion is also selling poppies in honor of National Poppy Day, which recognizes veterans living and lost. For more infor mation, see the article on page seven.

On Saturday, Bandera Brewery will hold a Toast for the Fallen event at 5 p.m. The brewery is located at 3540 Hwy 16 S. All ages are welcome.

The Stampede Days Parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday. Sponsored by the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce, the colorful parade will go down Main Street before turning left at Lowe’s and concluding.

While you’re waiting for the parade, check out the Arts and Crafts Show on the Bandera County Courthouse lawn. The event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Not in the mood for arts and crafts? Pregame for the parade at Boot and Saddle Saloon. Located inside the Best Western on Main Street, the location will offer $4 Bloody Marys from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Memorial Day, veterans and active duty military receive $1 domestic beer and $4 Jack Daniels.

Head out to Mansfield Park for the Memorial Day Weekend Stampede

Pro Rodeo, scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 6 p.m. Grand Entry starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available in person at the event or at www.banderaprorodeo. org

In the mood for some live music? Head to 11th Street Cowboy Bar, where music is scheduled all weekend. Day passes for the concerts range between $30-35 a day, with weekend passes priced at $90.
