The Medina Community Christmas event last Sunday, Dec. 4, was a perfect way to usher in the Christmas season.

The event featured a sea of parents, grandparents and other folks in an overflow group at the Medina Community Library.

The fun and joy of little voices singing started at 4 p.m. and continued well into the evening. After that children and parents could try tasty, festive pastries and visit Santa Claus.

“We usually are the at outdoor stage at this event but the weather is making us go inside,” said Thad Emmons, Vice President of the Library Board of Directors.

Emmons said the event has been held as long as he has lived in Medina, which is 15 years.

“It is a great community event which involves a Baking contest for adults and kids. The Community Choir performed, as well as the MISD Choir, the MISD Choir and MISD Band, Santa and a baked goods tasting after the winners were announced,” Emmons said.

The winners in the adult section were Lacey Rogers and Nichole Smith.

The winners in the kids contest were Julianna Rogers, Carolyn Rogers and Emma Rynarzewski.
