A local chapter of The Compassionate Friends (TCF) met last night at First Presbyerian Church Ryan Hall, located at 800 Jefferson Street in Kerrville.

TCF is a unique grief group with its roots in England.

Decades ago, a British chaplain united two sets of grieving parents and realized the support they gave each other was better than anything he could provide. Meeting around a kitchen table, the bereaved parents unknowingly gave birth to TCF..

Today, TCF has over 600 chapters serving all 50 states. The simple aim of each: to offer friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents and other family members during the natural grieving process after a child has died.

Around the world, more than 30 countries have a TCF presence, encircling the globe with support so desperately needed when the worst has happened.

TCF of Texas HIll Country meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
