Businesswoman opening more bars

Alana Smith seems to be always on the move.

The owner of the Red Horse Saloon held a grand opening earlier this month for the Boot and Saddle Saloon in downtown’s Best Western, and she hopes to open Shotgun Sports bar next month.

Boot and Saddle’s grand opening featured a packed lineup of musicians and a sizable crowd.

Smith said that there isn’t even a sign for Boot and Saddle, but people are still showing up.

“We were full even in the weeks before the grand opening,” she added.

Smith is now turning her attention to the Shotgun Sports Bar, which will also be attached to the Best Western and is eyeing an opening in early June.

“The sports bar will have a Wall of Fame that has photos of Bandera athletes going back to the 1950s and will be fun,” she said.

Smith added the location will have TVs showing sports events and things that sports fans enjoy.
