The Bandera Brewery Second Saturday Flea Market was in full swing on June 12. Over a dozen vendors came out to sell their wares in the parking lot in front of the Brewery.

Brewery owner John Oliver provides space for vendors for free. Shoppers can sip on craft beer, wine and Mimosas while shopping.

“We don’t charge for booths in the flea market. It’s something we do to benefit the community,” said Oliver.

The offerings were as eclectic as the location. Tools, home goods, candles, t-shirts, habanero jelly, crystals and rocks, boots, and jewelry were all on display.

Danielle Escalante of Dani’s Odds and Ends remarked, “I like it (the flea market), it’s fun and relaxing. It’s a nice community atmosphere.”

Young vendor Landry Ryan was shyly showing her display of rocks and crystals to shoppers at Woodstock Rocks. Vendor Andrea Lugo of Candles by Scentaholics created an exceptional booth by converting a box trailer into a rolling store front.

While Lugo has products in the Bandera General Store and another venue in San Antonio, she likes coming out to the Flea Market to sell her candles.

“I have been out here two times before and I will come back,” she said.

Vendor Elly Sides of 7 Strand Power Cording set up his booth with examples of many different products made with power cord like dog leashes, key chains, and bracelets.

“I have been here several times, and I like it. The Sip and Shop event in the beer garden was great,” Sides remarked.

The Bandera Brewery sponsors this roadside market (on Hwy 16) on the second Saturday of the month in the parking lot.

They begin serving craft beer, wine, and Mimosas at 11:00 AM so shoppers can refresh themselves while browsing the market.

The Bandera Brewery is a family and pet friendly beer bar with food provided by a food truck out back in the beer garden.
