Brewery celebrates graduates

The Bandera Brewery held a big graduation celebration on May 22 for Bandera High School graduates Bailey Cox and Savannah Foster, brewery employees, extending an open invitation to all graduating students and their families to attend.
Bailey has worked for the Bandera Brewery for two years, and Savanna has worked for them for one year.
The brewery was decorated with balloons, banners, and graduation decorations and a video of the commencement ceremony played on the big screen television.
The crowd was laid back, sipping craft beer as they waited for the Dan Gonzalez Band from San Antonio to set up to play. And the celebration grew. Five more seniors brought their families to celebrate at the brewery and bar.
“We are very family friendly,” said Bandera Brewery event planner Liz Cox, who opened the bar to any senior who wanted to have their graduation party there to take advantage of the decorations and live band.
As the families mingled among the festive party atmosphere, they sipped craft beer and talked quietly. It was definitely a low key but fun event.
“We always want to give back to the community, so when we decided to have a party for Bailey and Savanna, I sent the word out that any senior who wanted to have their party here was welcome,” said Cox.
Teachers and parents of any graduating senior were offered half off the price of their first beer at the family-friendly location, which also offered many non-alcoholic beverages for those not of drinking age.
The Bandera Brewery is located at 3540 Highway 16 South in Bandera. They brew artisanal craft beer. Events and live music are weekly. Seating is indoor and outdoor with curbside pickup. For more information and an event calendar go to BanderaBrewery on Facebook.
