There are so many things going on at the library it can be hard to keep up with everything. The two best ways to stay caught up is to check out our calendar on www. banderacountylibrary. org and sign up for our monthly newsletter.

This week, the Country and Western Music Group’s weekly jam session meets in the Downstairs Meeting Room on Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. In the afternoon, patrons aged 13 and up can join the Weekly Game Night from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room.

Local crafters can join our weekly Sit-and-Stitch on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Knitters, crocheters, and any other kind of needle crafters are welcome to join in on some quality crafting and chatting time. Saturday morning our Dungeons and Dragons group meets from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room.

This Friday, October 15, is the last day to turn in your child or teen’s submission for the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. We have received some great submissions. Voting begins Monday, October 18. The winner will be announced online and will receive a gift card to Snowflake Donuts.

New titles this week include John Le Carré’s last novel called “Silver View,” published posthumously.

Julian Lawndsley has finally left the hustle and bustle of big city life to settle into a quiet in an English seaside town selling books. After a few months of peace and quiet, Julian receives a visit from a gentleman named Edward, a Polish émigré who seems to know much more about Julian and his family than feels altogether comfortable. At the same time of their encounters, a London spy master receives warning of a treacherous leak with the evidence leading straight to Julian’s coastal village.

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Masks are recommended while in the library building. Check out our website www. banderacountylibrary. org for all up-to-date information.

Happy tales, y’all.
