Just in case you thought the kids have all the fun this summer, come by the Library on June 1 to sign up for the first ever Summer Reading Challenge for Adults and Teens. The Library has prepared a list of books from different genres.

Whoever reads the most books from different categories by August 31 will win a $25 gift card to the Dough Joe. The librarians can help you find books in each genre; all you have to do is read them!

So, if you are looking to expand your reading or just really love pizza, come by the library to get your reading challenge list and your log.

The countdown has begun to the Summer Reading Program for children ages four to 12. The program begins Tuesday, June 29, and goes until Tuesday, August 3. We will be having games, prizes, arts and crafts, music and of course lots of reading.

Registration forms can be downloaded from our website www.banderacountylibrary.org or you can pick one up the next time you are at the Library. We also still need volunteers to help run the program. Call the library to ask for more information.

The Bandera Library is happy to announce an author visit on Saturday, June 12th. Joanne Kukanza Easley, who is a local author, will be at the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

She will be signing copies of her acclaimed debut novel, “Sweet Jane.” It was named 2020 winner of adult fiction by the Texas Author Project. Easley will also be previewing her newest novel, titled ‘Just One Look,” slated to release on June 24, 2021.

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all upto-date information. We are requesting you wear a mask while you are in the building.

Happy tales, y’all.
