The runoff for the Bandera County Sheriff is scheduled for May 28, but the deadline to register is sooner.
The deadline to register to vote is April 29, 2024.
Applications for ballot by mail (ABBM) and Federal Postcard Applications (FPCA) can be sent via mail to Andrea Jankoski, Bandera County Election Official, PO Box 1882, Bandera, Texas 78003, or emailed to elections@banderacounty. org.
These applications must be received by the close of business on May 17, 2024.
If applications are faxed or emailed, the original application must be received within 4 business days.
Incumbent Dan Butts faces off against Josh Teitge.
In the original May primary, Butts received 33.88 percent of the vote, and Josh Teitge, who received 42.67 percent of the vote. WIll Dietrich finished third with 23.45 percent.
In Texas, 50 percent plus one vote is required to win an election, otherwise a runoff between the top two finishers is triggered.
Election day is Tuesday, May 28. Early voting is May 20-24. Voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The main early voting site will be at the Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th St, with branch early voting sites at Lakehills Area Library and Medina Annex.
