Protesters gathered outside the Bandera County Courthouse on Saturday, Oct. 10, for “What Has He Done? We Need a Change!,” a protest against Gov. Greg Abbott hosted by the Bandera County Democratic Club. A reporter counted 25 participants at 9:15 a.m., and organizers expected more to join. Demonstrators held signs criticizing Abbott’s record on public school funding, foster care, power outages, school vouchers and other issues. One sign called Abbott “Trump’s robot,” while another urged voters to “put a woman in charge” in support of Gina Hinojosa, a Democratic candidate for governor. The protest took place ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, when Texas voters will decide the state’s next governor and other federal, state and local races. BULLETIN PHOTOS/Tracy Thayer
