The Lakehills Area Library will feature the work of two local artists during October: acrylic painter Shirley Grohman and metalwork artist Cody Vera.
Grohman embraced her love of painting after a 33-year career in project management with AT&T. Her passion for art eventually inspired her to share what she describes as “accessible creativity” with others.
Grohman began painting in 2014 after discovering a renewed interest in art. Since then, she has continued developing her skills and sharing her work with the community.
Her acrylic paintings feature a variety of subjects and styles, reflecting her belief that creativity should be accessible to everyone.
Vera is a metalwork artist whose work demonstrates the versatility of metal as an artistic medium. His pieces include handcrafted designs that combine creativity with the durability and character of metal.
The library will display examples of both artists’ work throughout October, giving visitors an opportunity to view their pieces while visiting the library.
The featured artwork includes Grohman’s scarecrow painting and Vera’s handcrafted metal pumpkin.
