Bandera City Council Member Lynn Palmer submitted her resignation virtually Sept. 8, prior to a council meeting she did not attend.
No public reason for the resignation has been provided to the Bulletin.
Mayor Denise Griffin announced Palmer’s resignation shortly after a closed session held during the Sept. 8 meeting.
“Lynn Palmer has resigned effective today, and I’m going to get a statement signed from her tomorrow,” Griffin said. “She will not be returning to council for a lot of reasons, and that’s all I am really supposed to say on that.”
The Bulletin requested a copy of Palmer’s resignation letter. Dated Sept. 8 at 9:30 a.m., the letter states: “Good Morning Mayor Griffin, on this date September 8, 2026, I am resigning from my position on the Bandera City Council effective immediately. Respectfully submitted, Lynn S. Palmer.”
Palmer previously served on the Bandera City Council and has also served on the Bandera Economic Development Corporation. She was approximately two months away from completing her current two-year term.
Palmer’s resignation leaves an open position on the Bandera City Council.
The council is expected to appoint a temporary council member during its Sept. 22 meeting to serve the remainder of the term, which runs through Nov. 3.
