The Frontier Times Museum will host author Chris Dion on Thursday, Sept. 17, for a discussion about the true story behind his book, Just Doing My Job: The Historic Story of Detective Neil Monaco & K9 Brandy.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Frontier Times Museum, 510 13th St. in Bandera. The event is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided.
Dion’s book tells the story of Detective Neil Monaco and his K9 partner, Brandy, and the role their partnership played in the development of the National Canine Program.
The presentation will include photographs and accounts of Monaco and Brandy’s work.
According to the museum, the story highlights the pair’s contributions to travel safety and public safety practices.
The event is intended to provide an opportunity for community members and families to learn more about the history behind the program and the relationship between Monaco and Brandy.
The Frontier Times Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
