The Lakehills Area Library has announced its September schedule of programs and events, including book clubs, a plant sale, a book sale, a jewelry- buying fundraiser and programs for children and adults.
The library will host an Alamo RCD Senior Social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. Registration is required.
The library’s Book Barn will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, for the monthly book sale.
The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Goldrush, hosted by Bandera Jewelers, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Participants may sell unwanted jewelry, precious metals and gems, and Bandera Jewelers will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Lakehills Area Library.
The Lakehills Area Library Garden Club will hold its fall plant sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
The Christian Classic Literature Book Club will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Lakehills Library Writers Group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. to share members’ work and discuss topics related to writing. The evening book club will meet at 5:30 p.m. to discuss “God of the Woods” by Liz Moore.
The library will host another Senior Lunch and Learn with Alamo RCD from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Registration is required. Contact the library for information about registering.
Preschool Storytime will return every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The program includes songs, stories, crafts and activities for children ages 1-6. The same program is offered both days each week.
Yarn Club meets every Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Participants can bring knitting, crochet, embroidery or other handcraft projects, or receive assistance learning a new skill.
Lakehills Area Library is located at 7200 FM 1283 in Lakehills. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Sunday. For more information, call 830-510-2777.
