San Antonio Food Bank continues flood relief efforts

Bandera County residents affected by July’s severe flooding are among those who have received emergency food and water assistance from the San Antonio Food Bank as recovery efforts continue across Southwest Texas.

From July 13 through Aug. 19, the food bank hosted 28 events across 11 counties, distributing more than 388,667 pounds of food and water to more than 3,863 households, according to a San Antonio Food Bank news release.

Emergency distributions were held in Bandera, Kerr, Medina, Kendall, Real, La Salle and Uvalde counties. The food bank also held mobile markets in Kendall, Medina and Uvalde counties and popup distributions in Medina, Guadalupe and La Salle counties.
