A motorcyclist died Tuesday afternoon after crashing into the back of an SUV while attempting to evade a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper in Bandera County, according to officials.
The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. July 21 near the intersection of Texas 16 South and FM 1283.
DPS said a trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop on the motorcycle along 16.
Instead of stopping, the rider fled and later struck the rear of a Lexus SUV.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the rider’s identity.
The crash remains under investigation.
