Two area students were among 36 graduating seniors recognized by U.S. Rep. Chip Roy with the 2026 Exceptional Senior Award.
Mary Freeman of Bandera High School and Holland Cook of Medina Secondary School were honored for demonstrating character, leadership, academic achievement and service to their communities.
Roy announced the recipients May 18, recognizing students from across Texas' 21st Congressional District.
'I am proud of all that the incredible young men and women of Texas' 21st Congressional District have achieved,' Roy said in a statement. 'Texans have reason to be optimistic about our great state's destiny with them as our future leaders.'
