The Medina Bobcats concluded a historic 2026 baseball season last weekend with an appearance in the Regional Final round of the UIL state playoffs. The Bobcats became the first baseball team in school history to win a regional semifinal championship and advance to the regional final, according to Medina ISD Superintendent and Athletic Director Lindsey Kunz. Following the season, several Medina players received District 29-1A honors.Senior Davis Peterson was named Offensive MVP, while Holland Cook earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Jay'vion Granderson was selected as Newcomer of the Year. Medina also placed five players on the first-team all-district squad. JT Kunz was selected as a utility player, Ty Jones was honored at third base, Nathan Jilek at shortstop, and Cooper Arnold and Anthony Silva were selected as outfielders. Second-team all-district honors went to designated hitter Gaige Wherry, outfielder Aiden Munsterteiger and second baseman Cody Boatman. COURTESY PHOTO
