The Bandera Gold and Silver Coin Company held its grand opening Friday, May 29. The Bandera Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new business to the community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Located next door to Bandera Jewelers, the new business is managed by Deen Huckaby.
The ribbon cutting was attended by more than 50 local residents, including Chamber Ambassadors and Chamber Executive Director James Hernandez.
Guests enjoyed a charcuterie board, wine and beer during the celebration.
Bandera Gold and Silver Coin Company is an extension of Bandera Jewelers, which is owned by Jordan and Tabitha Marcom.
Along with partner Deen Huckaby, the businesses aim to serve the area's precious metals market. The new business will buy and sell gold and silver and offer bullion sales to the public.
During the grand opening, Huckaby welcomed customers and visited with Angel Nastin and Kim Stevenson while showing them several items available in the store.
Jordan Marcom said his interest in gold and silver coins began in junior high school. He said opening a storefront next door would allow him to provide additional services to the community and expand his business operations in Bandera.
Chamber Ambassadors Vanessa and Tim Churchman also attended the event and visited with community members throughout the evening.
Toward the end of the event, several prizes were awarded. E.B. Ruston won a silver coin, while Sara Sandifer received a variety of gift certificates in a doorprize drawing.
The Chamber concluded the event with a group photo during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. As guests departed for other Friday evening activities, Jordan and Tabitha Marcom and Deen Huckaby celebrated the opening of their new business venture.
