The Medina Bobcats baseball team claimed the Area Championship on Thursday, May 7, defeating Spurger 10-7 to advance to the regional semifinal round of the UIL playoffs. The Bobcats will face Round Top-Carmine Cubs in a best-of-three series. Game one will be hosted by Medina at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14.
