Archeological association meeting

The Hill Country Archeological Association will host a public book club meeting May 13 at the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library in Kerrville, according to a news release.

The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the library, located at 425 Water St.

Participants will discuss Secrets in the Dirt: Uncovering the Ancient People of Gault by Mary S. Black. The book explores the archaeological significance of the Gault Site in Central Texas and the ancient peoples connected to it.

The Hill Country Archeological Association is made up of avocational and professional archaeologists who work to study and preserve the prehistoric and historical heritage of the Texas Hill Country while educating the public about archaeology.

Library patrons are encouraged to check with the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library regarding book availability or interlibrary loan options.

The event is free and open to the public.

The association also announced upcoming book club selections, including Archaeology from Space: How the Future Shapes Our Past by Sarah Parcak on June 10 and Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari on July 8.
