The Lakehills Area Library is highlighting the work of local artists Melissa Brambila and her daughter, Hailee Segura, throughout May as part of a special community art display.
Segura, a senior at Bandera High School, is showcasing a collection of handcrafted greeting cards that began as a hobby and evolved into a creative outlet she now shares with the community.
“Creating cards allows me to connect with the world and my community in ways they hold close to their hearts,” Segura said in information provided by the library.
Segura said she draws inspiration from everyday life and from those who support her work, adding that cardmaking allows her to channel creativity into something “positive and useful.”
Brambila’s display features handmade jewelry crafted from repurposed and vintage materials. She said many of her pieces reflect different seasons of her life and are inspired by beads and materials that catch her attention.
Both artists have works available for purchase during the monthlong exhibit at the library.
