The Bandera High School marching band earned first place in the 4A division at the Battle of Flowers Band Festival, held in San Antonio on April 23.
According to official results, Bandera High School finished ahead of Somerset High School, which placed second in the 4A category.
The festival, part of Fiesta San Antonio, featured performances from dozens of high school marching bands across the region.
More than 4,000 students from nearly 40 schools participated in the annual event, which is among the longest-running marching band festivals in the country.
Winners were announced across multiple classifications. In the 3A and below category, Cornerstone High School took first place, followed by Central Catholic High School.
In 5A, Thomas Jefferson High School placed first, with Pieper High School finishing second.
In 6A, Churchill High School earned first place, followed by East Central High School.
Additional honors were awarded for specific performance elements.
East Central High School received the Spirit Award for its color guard, while Thomas Jefferson High School earned the Chairman’s Award for crowd-pleasing performance.
The Battle of Flowers Band Festival is a longstanding Fiesta tradition, showcasing high school music programs from San Antonio and surrounding communities while celebrating Texas history and culture.
