Mercy Gate Ministries hosting fundraiser

Mercy Gate Ministries will host its “Keys to Freedom” fundraiser Monday, May 11, at 11th Street Cowboy Bar, as the organization continues expanding services to support survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking.

The event, scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., is free and open to the public and will feature live music, appetizers and a 50/50 raffle.

Organizers say the fundraiser will support Mercy Gate’s ongoing programs, which provide direct care for women ages 18 and older recovering from sexual trauma and trafficking. Services include residential and nonresidential programs, court advocacy and family reunification support.

The Bandera-based nonprofit has grown its local presence in recent years, including the opening of a new office aimed at expanding outreach and services in the Hill Country.

Fundraising events like “Keys to Freedom” help sustain those efforts and increase awareness of human trafficking issues in the region.

The event is hosted by partners of the 11th Street Cowboy Bar and will include food provided by Karissa’s Creations, according to event materials. Mercy Gate representatives say community support remains critical to maintaining and expanding services for survivors, as the organization continues its mission to provide long-term restoration and healing resources in Bandera County and beyond.
