Commissioners to consider new parking lot

The Bandera County Commissioners Court will meet at 10 a.m. April 9 at the Bandera County Courthouse, where officials are set to consider multiple subdivision replats, an interlocal agreement for a downtown parking project and several budget-related items, according to the meeting agenda.

According to the agenda, the court will open with a public forum before moving into a series of items for discussion and possible action.

Among the items, commissioners will consider requests to replat multiple properties into single lots, including parcels in Bandera Falls Subdivision, Exotic Acres Subdivision and Flying L Ranch Subdivision. The Bandera Falls request involves Block 1, Lots 2 and 3, while Exotic Acres includes Unit 1, Lots 133 and 134. The Flying L Ranch request involves Section 9, Lots 5 and 6.

Commissioners are also expected to consider an interlocal agreement between the City of Bandera and Bandera County to construct a parking lot near the historic 1881 and 1877 buildings. According to the agenda, the project would be partially funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Rural Economic Development program, and would authorize the county judge to sign the agreement.

Other agenda items include a request from the Bandera American Legion Post 157 to use the courthouse lawn for 2026 events and a presentation of the county’s fiscal year 2025 audit by Neffendorf & Blocker P.C.

The court will also consider a resolution to the Texas Department of Transportation addressing safety deficiencies on State Highway 46 in Bandera and Kendall counties, as well as an amendment to a contract with the Department of State Health Services related to the Cities Readiness Initiative.

Additional items include a service agreement request to evaluate a Microsoft Windows domain controller replication issue, budget line item transfers and budget amendments.

According to the agenda, the consent agenda will include routine items such as departmental reports, payment of bills, receipts, payroll scheduling, approval of minutes and deputations.
