Peterson Home Care has been named a Best Home Health agency for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report, according to an announcement from the organization.
“We are incredibly proud of our home health team in achieving this recognition. Quality, safety, and patient experience are paramount to the work they do, and this award is a testament to that,” said John McDonald, president and CEO of Peterson Health.
A press release said the recognition is part of U.S. News’ first evaluation of home health providers nationwide, which assessed more than 12,000 agencies.
Peterson Home Care received a “High Performing” designation, the highest rating awarded in the analysis, based on measures of care quality and patient experience.
U.S. News reported that about 17% of evaluated agencies received the Best Home Health designation.
According to a press release, the ratings are intended to help patients and families compare providers and make informed decisions in consultation with their physicians.
“Earning the Best Home Health distinction is a significant achievement, as it is reserved only for those agencies that satisfy U.S. News’ standards of care quality and patient experience,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News.
The evaluation used data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, including measures such as timely initiation of care and rates of potentially preventable hospitalizations, along with patient experience survey results.
More than 3 million patients use home health services each year in the United States, according to U.S. News.
The organization said its ratings aim to provide an independent assessment of provider performance for a largely senior population.
