Locals have a chance to get behind the controls of a main battle tank while supporting community history through the newly announced Drive a Tank Raffle benefiting the Frontier Times Museum.
The raffle prize, valued at $4,187, features the Favorite Group Package from Drivetanks.com.
The experience allows one driver and two guests to operate a Leopard tank and participate in a heavy weaponry demonstration, including a PMK machine gun, an MP flamethrower and an M107 Barrett .50-caliber sniper rifle.
Tickets for the raffle are priced at $100 each, with sales limited to 100 tickets. All proceeds will go toward the educational programs at the Frontier Times Museum.
Tickets are currently available at the museum, located at 510 13th St. in Bandera. Potential participants can also contact the museum at 830-796-3864 for more information.
The drawing is scheduled for April 18. Winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win.
