The Lakehills Area Library will wrap up its March exhibit featuring local artist Kathryn Sullivan on Friday, March 27, before transitioning to a student-centered showcase for April.

Sullivan, a native Texan and Pipe Creek resident, previously worked in law enforcement in Orlando, Florida, before returning to Texas after retirement.

She has explored a wide range of creative disciplines, including drawing, painting, woodworking, sewing and quilting, along with jewelry making, crocheting, embroidery and photography.

Her exhibit at the library features an array of handcrafted works such as quilted wall hangings, colorful rope bowls, jewelry, tea towels and shopping bags. One of the most unique pieces is a crocheted scarf made from yarn spun from the fur of her German shepherd, Shadow.

Following the conclusion of Sullivan’s exhibit, the library will celebrate Student Art Month in April, highlighting artwork from local youth.

Homeschool students in the Lakehills area will install their work on Monday, March 30, followed by students from Hill Country Elementary School on Tuesday, March 31.

The new exhibit will be on display throughout April, showcasing the creativity of young artists in the community. An article highlighting the student showcase is expected to be completed by April 1, according to library representative Barbara Rodriguez.
