Bandera County residents have two upcoming public hearings to consider a proposed city zoning change and the creation of a county-wide emergency services district.
The Bandera City Council will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at City Hall, 511 Main St., to discuss reclassifying a 0.221-acre property at 156685 Cypress St. from P3: Neighborhood to P4: Neighborhood Mixed Legal.
Following the public comment period, the council is expected to issue a final decision at 6:30 p.m. the same evening.
The facility is wheelchair accessible.
Residents needing accommodations or interpretive services should contact the City Secretary at (830) 796-3765 at least 48 hours before the meeting.
Later in the week, the Bandera County Clerk will host a hearing on the proposed creation of Bandera County Emergency Services District No. 2.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the Lakehills Community Center, 11225 PR-37.
The district, if approved, would operate under Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code to provide fire suppression and medical emergency responses.
The proposal follows a formal petition filed with the County Clerk. Any person with an interest may attend to support or oppose the creation of the district.
Maps of the proposed district boundaries and the petition are available for public review at the County Clerkâs Office during regular business hours.
