Medina High School’s baseball team honored a longtime community member with a championship performance, winning the inaugural Robert Ashley Memorial Baseball Tournament held Feb. 27–28.
The Bobcats finished the tournament with a perfect 3–0 record to claim the title on their home field.
Junior Davis Peterson was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Senior Holland Cook and Ty Jones, along with sophomore JT Kunz, were selected to the all-tournament team.
The tournament was established in memory of Robert Ashley, recognizing his contributions to the Medina community.
Medina also hosted a softball tournament the same weekend. The Lady Cats earned a 10–6 victory over Great Hearts, and freshman Olivia Longoria was named to the all-tournament team.
