The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic will host its Bandera Bunny Run/Walk 5K on April 18 at the Village of Hope Event Center, raising funds to support medical services for its patients, according to a press release.
The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the run and walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help provide specialized care for clinic patients, including physician services, radiology and medications not available through the clinic, such as cancer and diabetic treatments, the release stated.
The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is a nonprofit facility that provides lowcost primary and preventive care, as well as mental health counseling, to Bandera County residents who meet income guidelines. The clinic does not receive government funding and relies on charitable donations to support its services, according to the release.
Early registration is available for $35 at athletesguild. com and increases to $45 after March 20. Participants may register individually or as part of a team. The course will travel through the city of Bandera and along the Medina River.
Participants will receive a T-shirt, goodie bag and timed race bib. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 10 to 17 through 70 and older.
Packet pickup will be held April 17 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, 1116 12th St., or on the day of the event.
Door prizes will be awarded following the medal presentation.
