The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic has received a second consecutive $50,000 grant from the Kate Marmion Charitable Foundation to continue funding its Well-Woman Program, which provides healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured women in Bandera County and surrounding rural communities.
Clinic officials said the Well-Woman Program, led by gynecologist Dr. Sandra Haldeman, offers preventive screenings, diagnostic testing, health education and treatment for women who may otherwise lack access to care.
She added that the program is aimed at addressing gaps in women’s healthcare services in rural areas, where specialty care is often limited.
“We, at the Arthur Nagel Clinic, are so grateful to have this grant,” Haldeman said. “It helps support the needed women’s care services our clinic provides.”
Clinic leaders said the continued funding reflects the program’s impact in helping women receive earlier screenings, identify health concerns sooner and remain connected to ongoing care.
“We are deeply grateful to the Kate Marmion Charitable Foundation for their continued investment in the health of women in our community,” said Sandra Imery, executive director of the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic. “Receiving this grant for a second year demonstrates the strength and impact of the Well-Woman Program. We are seeing real, positive changes in women’s health through earlier detection, increased preventive care and improved access for patients who face transportation and financial challenges.”
Imery said the grant will support expanded screening services, increased outreach efforts, enhanced health education and improved access to behavioral health counseling.
