Roses are red, warrants are due, Sheriff’s office reminds public

The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office used humor this week to remind the public that outstanding warrants remain a serious matter, sharing a Valentine’s Day-themed message encouraging residents to report information on wanted individuals.

In a Feb. 9 social media post, the sheriff’s office asked whether anyone had “an ex with a warrant” in Bandera County and encouraged the public to contact law enforcement with tips.

The post framed arrests as a tongue-in-cheek “Valentine’s Day treatment,” referencing complimentary “jewelry” (handcuffs), clothing, transportation and jail meals.

Despite the lighthearted tone, officials emphasized that public safety remains the priority.

The sheriff’s office urged anyone with information about individuals with active warrants to call the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office at 830-7963771. Emergencies should be reported by calling 911.

The post concluded with a reminder that while Valentine’s Day may focus on love, law enforcement continues working to serve warrants and keep the community safe.
