Ren festival wrapping up in Kerrville

The 10th annual Kerrville Renaissance Festival will conclude its final weekend Jan. 31–Feb. 1 at River Star Arts and Events Park.

Festival gates will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with events scheduled to continue rain, shine or cold weather.

The festival features eight stages of live entertainment, including music, dancing, magic and interactive performances common to Renaissance festivals nationwide. Many activities encourage audience participation, including strolling minstrels, hobby horse races, Viking battle reenactments, mazes, photo opportunities and guided pub crawls.

Last Chance Forever Birds of Prey is also returning for the final weekend, presenting live raptor demonstrations.

Food and drink options include a food court and food trucks offering soups, turkey legs, kettle corn, funnel cakes, roasted nuts, pastries and other traditional festival fare. The Pirate Pavilion will serve beer, wine, mead and cider, along with specialty mixed drinks, rum punch and margaritas.

Festivalgoers can also browse the marketplace, which features vendors selling handmade wooden toys, leather goods, clothing, hats, glassware, jewelry and other crafts.

River Star Arts and Events Park is located on the grounds of the Hill Country Youth Event Center at 3785 Texas 27 in Kerrville. Parking is available on site at no charge.
