Dreams Do Come True

They can. No matter how farfetched a dream might seem. So don’t give up. That’s the lesson here, no matter how unreal or strange your dream might be, keep believing in it. It may suddenly come true.

For years, Donald Trump has been hoping his dream of dominating the Western Hemisphere would come true.

It has, beginning with Venezuela, and the next step, maybe Greenland. He has also recently mentioned taking over Columbia, Cuba and Mexico.

On January 3, 2026, he unleashed a military raid of Venezuela to kidnap its president and his wife.

The New York Times reported “dozens” died in that raid, although at this point, there’s no exact number of casualties. Some were military and some were every day citizens.

Relatives of the everyday Venezuelans asked not to be identified “for fear of retribution…” So we may never know how many of them died as Trump’s dream came true. But it seems to make no difference to him. For now, Trump says the US Oversight of Venezuela Could Last for Years.

He has also bombed and killed dozens of Venezuelans in what look like fishing boats just off the coast of that country without concrete evidence they were carrying illegal drugs headed for America.

THE‘DUMB-ROE’DOCTRINE

It’s what dissenters are calling Trump’s dream-come-true. It’s based on what Trump calls the “Donroe Doctrine,” in honor of himself, an interpretation of President James Monroe’s 1823 declaration – The Monroe Doctrine - opposing European colonialism in the Western Hemisphere.

It’s Trump’s Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine. The Donroe Doctrine says it’s legal to invade a foreign country and kidnap it’s top official and his wife.

The 1823 doctrine was expanded by President Teddy Roosevelt in 1904 to mean the US could send US troops into Western Hemisphere countries. As a result, US Marines were “deployed to the Dominican Republic that year, Nicaragua in 1911 and Haiti in 1915 “ supposedly to keep Europeans out.

Under his Donroe Doctrine, Trump says he can invade any country in the Western Hemisphere if he believes it poses even the slightest national security threat to the US.

He has yet to release the legal justification for bombing strikes on civilian boats at sea with no concrete evidence they were running illegal drugs. The strikes have killed close to, or more, than 100 people.

And “basic factual evidence,” such as full videos and orders have been “hidden from the American people.”

Meanwhile, Americans who believe in the US Constitution, and therefore question the Donroe Doctrine, still hope that one day their favorite dream will come true.

It’s called “impeachment.” Congress can charge and try Trump for “treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors” and remove him from office.

It doesn’t kill anybody.
