Letz speaking on water future

Former Kerr County Commissioner Jonathan Letz will speak on the future of Hill Country water resources at the January luncheon meeting of the Hill Country Chapter of Texas Democratic Women.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, in the lecture hall at 125 Lehmann Drive in Kerrville.

Letz is expected to discuss a range of topics related to water supply, rivers and long-term planning in the Hill Country.

Letz recently joined the board of the Upper Guadalupe River Authority, where he will serve through 2029. He previously served 28 years as Precinct 3 commissioner in Kerr County.

During his tenure on the Kerr County Commissioners Court, Letz was involved in multiple infrastructure projects, including the East Kerr County Wastewater Project, which eliminated approximately 900 septic systems.

He also worked on water quality and supply issues through his role as chairman of the Plateau Water Planning Group, which he led from its inception in 1998.

Letz and his wife, Karen, live in Comfort, where they operate Cherry Creek Ranch, The Garden Haus Nursery and Southwest Turf and Irrigation.

Guests may begin signing in at 11:15 a.m., with the business meeting set to begin at 11:45 a.m.

Letz’s presentation is scheduled for noon, followed by a luncheon concluding at 1 p.m.

Attendees are welcome to remain afterward for informal conversation.
