CHRISTMAS PARADE LIGHTS UP MAIN STREET

CHRISTMAS PARADE LIGHTS UP MAIN STREET

The Bandera Business Association held its third annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 13. Floats from multiple businesses and family ranches in and around Bandera cruised down Main Street, with many tossing candy canes and other sweet treats to attendees. Bandera City Marshal Earl Heidelberg opened the parade, as is tradition. Attendees were dazzled with floats decorated as Whoville, A Very Frosty Christmas, A Cowboy Christmas, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Accompanying the floats, bedazzled antique vehicles, tractors, motorcycles – and yes, horses – rode through Main Street. Although Texas rarely sees snow, attendees were surprised by faux snow machines, emitting from local business rooftops and from multiple floats. Children ran to the streets to gather candy and play with the faux snow.

Participants in the parade included Bandera Youth Soccer Organization, Lollipops & Gumdrops, Warriors Heart, Hauer Brothers AC & Heating, Oasis Family Church, 11th Street Cowboy Bar, Daughters of the Republic, Kountry Kurl Salon, and Al’s Hideaway.

The “most magical parade of the year” has plans to return next year. If you are interested in participating in the parade, email [email protected].
