The Bandera Bulldogs opened their home schedule Dec. 16 with a 71-55 victory over the Hondo Owls, pulling away behind a balanced offensive effort.
James Bower led Bandera with a game-high 21 points, setting the pace offensively. Jeffry Thomas followed with 16 points while directing the offense and creating opportunities for teammates throughout the night.
Riley Moran provided a boost off the bench, finishing with a season-high nine points while adding defensive pressure as the Bulldogs’ sixth man.
Bandera’s freshman and junior varsity teams also competed against Hondo earlier in the evening. Both teams were edged by a tough Owls squad, but continued to show progress as the season gets underway.
The Bulldogs returned to action Friday morning on the road against the Floresville Tigers. Score was not available by the Bulletin’s press time.
